When it comes to success and happiness, does everything happen for a reason?
I've had some reflections on everything happens for a reason sayings that I want to share. With mercury in retrograde and astrology becoming more & more popularized, I couldn't ignore this instinctual feeling like something was missing every time I read one.
It's not that I'm a complete skeptic, or that I don't believe it. That's really not the case at all. Sometimes I find the messages within these posts to be helpful and uplifting. A lot of times my horoscope is really spot on. What does that mean? That I am connected with a divine being?
We cannot say for sure, but there is one big misconception here that I see everyone is blind to. That is the fact that everything really does not happen for reason.
What do I mean? I mean that reason is a product of being human. It is a combination of our consciousness speaking to our emotions, reminding us to be logical, not frivolous, but patient and understanding. The most important reflections on everything happens for a reason sayings are:
When we say everything happens for a reason, we say, we can make anything happen that we set our mind to.
What is missing here is that this universe is not human. It is wild. It isn't even completely animal and sentient. This universe is pressure, force, speed, light, space, time, matter, nutrients, chemistry and processes. It is constantly happening all the time. Our own logical and emotional thoughts are apart of that. They do not exist alone and while unique, are not superior in this universe. We are human and mother nature reminds us of our size all the time. Take hurricanes, the ocean, blue whales, our weather system, black holes, and super novas. Compare that to being human. This universe has drama and force, she may not even care about our human desires. Things like debt, a home, love, stress, happiness, fear are earthly experiences and not even limited to human life.
While coincidences happen frequently, we experience what our consciousness wills or needs. Sometimes that is a wakeup call. Sometimes that is an achievement.
Saying everything happens for a reason is a selfish and human way to look at the world. We limit our consciousness, make ourselves blind to what we believe we are capable of and calling it divine intervention, all because of self doubt, fear and many other emotions.
When we say everything happens for a reason and then our hopes & dreams come true, we remove that which makes us afraid to reflect. We remove the darkest part of our emotional being and allow ourselves to be unapologetically logical, easy, and free to put one foot in front of the other. Telling ourselves that everything happens for a reason is saying to ourselves, "forget the bad stuff, we are alive and deserve to see our greatest fears, trials or happiness”- whichever comes our way at that time.
What does this have to do with our nutrition?
If we have a medical condition or even symptoms directly associated with one system, we become aware of the health status of those organs. However, in these circumstances, we also need to pay close attention to the specific nutrient deficiencies and other organ systems.
When you notice smaller signs and symptoms of health like brittle fingernails, itchy scalp, dry skin, keep in mind that those are early warning signs that your body has a deficit. So if you have additional symptoms beyond that, your body is now giving warning signals from organ systems. These are more important to protect than surface level signs of vanity.
When we have a major wakeup call in life or a major health scare, that is our body or our consciousness screaming to us: you need to start paying attention.
Does everything happen for reason or is everything already connected and we lack the understanding of a language beyond our own consciousness? When we have multiple deficiencies and system burdens in the body, we can lose our ability to hear what our body truly needs because it is shouting so many things to us. It is hard to understand.
When someone shouts in another language, even if you are somewhat proficient, it is hard to understand.
When our emotions and logical abilities are both shouting, it is hard to understand how to move forward. We hold ourselves back.
Saying everything happens for reason, is reminding yourself to be logical, but defining your own conscious abilities as other worldly.
When we choose to finally hear our needs, act on our own desires, put one foot in front of the other, the universe responds the way our biological processes do. We achieve our goals, because we are prepared to have them. Our body is prepared to heal, we just need to hear what it needs and provide that.
If the experience of calling to the universe works for others, it can work for you too. What is required is reflection and self acceptance. You are not required to believe in God or astrology. There are many religions on this earth and many people who believe none of them that achieve a desired harmony in life.
What we know we truly all have is a brain that thinks, feels, reflects and acts. We have a body that heals and asks to be healed. I tell every one of my clients that we have an innate ability to be guided by our body to eat the foods with the nutrients we need. Our consciousness can do the same for our emotional needs if we let it.
Be wild, be free, put one foot in front of another until you begin to run towards what you ask the universe for. You don’t need to wait until it happens to you, you can make it happen here and now with nothing but yourself and your ability to reflect on who you are as a human being. It’s about navigating space, time, physics and processes, not about waiting for your due in this unpredictable and constantly changing fabric of the universe.
