The A.K. Kitchen was started in 2016 when founder, Aimee Hockett was attending the graduate program for clinical nutrition at Maryland University of Integrative Health. She knew before starting the program that she wanted to work in the food industry, but didn't feel quite at home in the culinary or food science world. There, she was inspired to explore the marriage between cooking, art, life, and wellness. She has since used the platform to develop wellness and mindset resources for her clients to help them improve their health while exploring new cooking experiences. Since starting The A.K. Kitchen as a food blog, it has grown to feature collaborations with food brands, bloggers and other wellness professionals. She plans to cultivate future collaborations and sponsorships to create a community oriented around food, wellness and sustainable living. Recipes featured on the blog are a driving force for improving the lives of others and remains a central element to the care Aimee provides her clients and loved ones. Aimee founded her nutrition practice in 2018 and has grown it into a nutrition resource center. While primarily focusing her energy on virtual health resources today, she integrates their needs and interests into the ebooks, resources, and blog posts she creates.
